Sun 11/17 @ 10AM-2PM

We love friends of the Cleveland Kennel and all the work they do to get more animals out of shelters and into homes, and make sure that people can take care of those animals, whatever their income status. Programs like City Dogs, which takes dogs to events such as the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Cleveland Flea and Walkabout Tremont to show how sweet and friendly pit-type dogs are, and the Neighborhood Pets Resource Center, which offers low-coast or even free basic needs to low-income pet owners, have been a blessing to hundreds of cats and dogs.

It’s a big week for the group, fundraising-wise, with a bunch of opportunities to contribute. The Cleveland Soup & Bread Experiment takes place on Wed 11/13 @ 6:30-8:30pm at the BottleHouse in Cleveland Heights. Volunteers will be serving hot soup with bread donated by area bakeries. Stop in for some free food and drop a little money in the donation bucket on your way out.

Then on Fri 11/15 @ 5-9pm and Sat 11/16 @ 11am-9pm, the Pierogi Lady will be hosting a Pierogi Pop Up Nosh in the space next door to Saucisson on Fleet Avenue in Slavic Village. There’ll also be chicken paprikash, haluski and frozen pierogi to take home, and a cash bar with proceeds benefiting Friends of the Cleveland Kennel.

Finally on Sun 11/17 @ 10am-2pm, you can join the lady butchers from Saucisson in their monthly Butcher Shop Brunch, with the Battle of the Brunch Cocktail, taking place at Saucisson. Bartenders from Porco and the Spotted Owl will be competing to mix the best brunch cocktail. Again, proceeds benefit Friends of the Cleveland Kennel.

So drink, eat and be merry, and help animals find their forever homes.
