Italian Film Fest at CWRU Offers Five Evenings of New Films

The Italian Film Festival USA of Cleveland returns to Case Western Reserve University’s Strosacker Auditorium this week, with screenings kicking off on Thursday March 26, and continuing through Wednesday April 8, with all screenings at 7pm except closing noght with screenings at 7pm and 9pm. The festival includes five feature-length films and an evening of seven short films, all new films released in 2025.

On Thursday March 26, Margherita Stampinato’s Gioia Mia (Sweetheart) launches the festival, with its story of a little boy forced to spend his summer with an elderly, very religious aunt in Sicily. She lives in a building haunted by the past and by superstitions, and worse of all — no Wi-Fi!!!! How does he survive? What is the upshot of this mismatch? Come finds out!
