Thu 11/7-Thu 11/21
Thank goodness we have some local businesses that respect and lift up women, because we’re certainly lacking that in our state house.
One of those is Cleveland-based grilled cheese eateries Melt Bar and Grilled — and wouldn’t a grilled cheese sandwich be preferable to some of these state legislators who think politicians should be making women’s health-care choices based on the politicians’ religious beliefs?
The restaurants will be holding a series of events called Melt Stigma, which will raise money for pro-choice efforts, provide accurate information about abortion, and encourage patrons to get engaged in the effort to prevent the rollback of women’s rights.
On certain days in November, five Melt locations will donate 20% of that day’s sales to NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio, an advocacy group for reproductive freedom. You need to present the flyer, on paper or digitally, to have your entire tab — including alcohol, takeout and catering — count toward the fundraiser (Hey — why not bookmark the days and plan to go on one of them to get some stuff for your Thanksgiving meal?). See flyer links for each location below.
In addition, NARAL representatives will be in attendance from 5:30-7:30pm on the designated day at each location, offering information and opportunities to get involved.
Keep in mind that while Melt is known for its sinfully delicious and filling grilled cheese sandwiches, its expanded menu includes many other choices, including even an extensive vegan menu. Gluten-free? Yes, they do that too!
