A decade ago, Mayor Frank Jackson kicked off Sustainable Cleveland 2019, a ten-year plan to work on way to make the city more environmentally friendly. Each year featured a different aspect of the mission, and started with a fair-type event in City Hall’s lobby and wrapped up with a summit at Public Hall in October to sum up the accomplishments of the year and brainstorm ideas for the coming year. This year’s summit at Public Hall, “Celebrating 10 Years, Building the Future,” will sum up the whole thing, looking at everything that’s been done to make Cleveland greener and healthier: clean water initiatives, more bike infrastructure, tree planting, green energy expansion and much more.
The one-day summit will recognize the people and organizations who have contributed the most, with remarks by Mayor Jackson, speakers, awards and discussions about how to build on what’s been accomplished.
It’s open to everyone; tickets are $40, and you should register by October 14. Register here. The summit is followed by an evening reception.
