Free Front Porch Concerts Start at Lakewood Library

Fri 6/28 @ 7PM

Inside, Lakewood Library might be calm and quiet, but when the summer Front Porch concert series begins the blocks around downtown Lakewood are filled with the beats, grooves, strings, horns and more throughout the season. Starting Fri 6/28, and continuing weekly through Fri 8/30, LakewoodAlive’s free concerts are fun for all ages.

Kicking off the series is local band the Pocket, which will bring its blend of funk, soul and jazz. The Pocket is fronted by Chris Vance, a mainstay in the local music scene, who has been performing and offering private musical instruction for more than a decade. Vance, formerly the owner of a Lakewood-based music studio, had been instrumental in helping to develop the Front Porch Concert Series over the years, and he is excited to perform at this unique venue in Downtown Lakewood.

Other performances throughout the summer include the Robin Blake Sound Experiment, Revolution Brass Band, Cats on Holiday, and more. Shows begin at 7pm on the Lakewood Library front porch — friends and families are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, blankets, snacks. In the case of harsh weather, the free concert will be moved inside.
