It’s a day for your dog to shine when the Humane Society of Summit County’s Bark in the Park pet expo returns to downtown Akron’s Lock 3 Park.
The gates open at 11am, and things get rolling at 11:30 with the Blessing of the Animals & Memorial. At noon, the pledge walk talks to the streets as people and their dogs take a one-mile stroll down Akron’s Main Street.
That’s followed by a flock of events at the park including dog agility and behavioral training demos, contests such as a doggie ice cream-eating contest, a dog costume contest and a dog & owner look-alike contest and a fundraising awards presentation at 2:30. There’ll be food trucks, more than 80 vendors, live entertainment, raffles, and yes, of course, there will be adoptable animals there!
Admission is $5.
