It all starts this Saturday: the 23rd annual Tri-C High School Rock Off, taking place at the rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Three semifinal rounds 1/19, 1/26 and 2/2 will choose four finalists each evening to proceed to the Final Exam 1/16.
Altogether, 35 bands and solo artists, representing 58 schools in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Texas and Virginia, will compete for the grand prize, chosen by a panel of judges from the music and entertainment industries. In addition to the grand prize and second and third places prizes, with bands winning money for themselves and their schools, PNC Bank will be awarding three scholarships to study at Tri-C’s Center for the Creative Arts, chosen from among all the seniors participating in the Rock Off.
Tickets for the semi-final rounds are $10; tickets for the Final Exam are $12.
