Becky Boyd has one of the biggest voices in the local music scene. She can belt a blues-based tune with the best of them, raising the roof, while still injecting her music with the affecting nuances of a good jazz singer. She’s one of the local music scene’s veterans, who has been performing at clubs and special events all over town for some four decades, both on her own and now with her latest band Groove Train, featuring bassist Alfredo Guerrieri, drummer Jim Wall and keyboardist Chris Hanna.
She’ll perform with Groove Train at Peninsula’s G.A.R. Hall, an intimate, rustic setting to really give her music a good listen. Tickets are $11 in advance, $15 at the door.
