Akron’s High Arts Festival Concludes with Music Festival Weekend

Akron’s four-week, multi-part High Arts Festival comes rolling into the homestretch with its closing weekend devoted to music.

On Friday evening the Akron Art Museum hosts a networking part and panel in its auditorium. From 6-7pm there’s socializing, followed by a panel discussion at 7, moderated by High Arts Festival music coordinator and Akron music scene mover and shaker Ryan Humbert. Panelists include JP Halling of the Otside Voices, Marc Lee Shannon, guitarist for Michael Stanley & the Resonators, the Rock Hall’s Lisa Vinciquerra, Summit FM music director Chad Miller and Canton Repository entertainment editor Dan Kane.

The following day the music festival takes place across the street at Blu Jazz, Uncorked Wine Bar and the Maiden Lane outdoor stage, starting at 2pm, with a couple of dozen bands in various genres performing, including the Angie Haze Project, Gretchen Pleuss, Jim Ballard, STEMS, the Dreemers, the House String Band, Uno Lady and many more.
