Tuesday Musical Association Kicks off Its 130th Season with Prelude at EJ Thomas Hall

Sat 9/16 @ 5:30PM

One of the area’s oldest musical presenters (130 years!), Akron’s Tuesday Musical, kicks off its season with a “Prelude Party, Concert and Extraordinary Experiences” at EJ Thomas Hall.

The Prelude Party takes place in the Goodrich Lobby with food stations courtesy of Splendid Fare, an open bar and music. The concert starts 7:30 in the concert hall, featuring a variety of performers.

They include Tuesday Musical’s quartet-in-residence, the Escher Quartet, performing the world premiere of a piece written by Akron composer James Wilding (pictured) in honor of the organization’s anniversary. Also on the program are violinist Grace Brown of Tuesday Musical’s Brahms Allegro Junior Music Club, 2017 Tuesday Musical Scholarship Competition winner, soprano Olivia Boen, and 2016 Cleveland International Piano Competition grand prize winner Nikita Mndoyants.

After the concert there will be dessert and a champagne toast in the lobby for all.

Prelude Party tickets are $130; the party and concert together are $165. Concert tickets alone range from $25-$45; students are free.
