Watch Artists Create & Vie to Buy Their Work at SPACES’ Monster Drawing Rally

Sat 4/22 @ 6-10PM

One of SPACES Gallery’s most fun and inclusive (and affordable) parties is its annual Monster Drawing Rally. Taking place for the 7th year — and the first in its new Hingetown facility — the event features more than 100 Cleveland-area artists working in public to create new artwork on the spot with materials provided by SPACES. Patrons can wander around and watch the artists as they work and identify work they might want to purchase. As the drawings are finished, each is hung on the walls and patrons scramble to grab their favorites for $75 a piece. It’s first-come, first-serve so it’s like a competition for the buyers.

In addition, there will be material for kids and families to create drawings, and there will be special Lil’ Monster and Teen Wolf display sections to hang them in the SPACES Mistake Lab.

Admission is just $5 (free for SPACES season pass holders and kids and youth 17 and under). Besides artist-watching artists, there’ll be music and a dance party, a change to spin the Blick Art Materials Prize Wheel, a cash bar and food provided by various food trucks including the ubiquitous Touch Supper Club truck.
