Who else would you expect to start a series of events called Colorful Cleveland, other than the Cleveland Peacock Christopher Axelrod, known as much for his array of costumes as for his distinctive performances?
The weekly variety show will showcase Cleveland talents of all types, aspiring to any aspect of show business — singers, dancers, comics, even hard-to-define performances. Bring ’em on!
Each week will feature a co-hosting “Laugh Meister” along with three performers. Hip hop violinist Humble G Tha Fiddler will serve as music director. And Axelrod promises to wear a differently themed hacket each week, drawn from his massive collection. Audience members too are invited to come dressed in “colorful Cleveland themes,” showing who or what they’re boosters for.
“Cleveland needs a weekly go to place and uplifting happening to celebrate our colorful citizens and muse over our current events,” says Axelrod.
