After all the Republican visitors and media left town, Clevelanders were able to enjoy the new Public Square without overwhelming police presence, shouting religious freaks and people toting signs for whatever their cause was. The RNC Host Committee, grateful that the convention took place without violence, threw Cleveland a party on Public Square, with food trucks, free ice cream and face painting. And you could still pick up an RNC souvenir if you were so minded.
