In the mood for a little Beethoven? The Arts Renaissance Tremont series will take care of that. Its upcoming concert features two pieces by Beethoven — his Trio Opus 11, and his Piano Quintet, opus 16, along with 20th-century composer Francis Poulenc’s Clarinet Sonata and Carl Reinecke’s Trio, opus 188.
They’ll be performed by five musicians who have dubbed themselves the Beethoven Piano Quintet: pianist Cicilia Yudha, oboe player Mary Lynch, clarinetist Robert Woolfrey, bassoonist Barrick Stees and horn player Richard King. Woolfrey, Stees and King are all members of the Cleveland Orchestra, and Lynch is a former member who is now with the Seattle Symphony. Dr. Yudha is an associate professor at Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music and has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra. The concert, which takes place at Tremont’s Pilgrim Church, is free.
