There are a multitude of local art sales in the next two weekends. But one that should be really enjoyable and perhaps a little more low-key than some, is the Tower Press Holiday Artists Sale.
The historic building on Superior Avenue has been home to artist studios for years, both young artists in their 20s and veteran artists such as painter Will Jean, who has discovered whole new avenues of artistic expression since retiring as head of the Cleveland Institute of Art’s continuing education program. They include photographers like Michael Levy, Eric Rippert and Dan Morgan, each of whom has a radically different approach the medium, painter/mixed-media artist Bill Naininger, whose Christmas Story-themed art is now on display at the E11even 2 Gallery at the 78th Street Studios, and painter JenMarie Zeleznak, known for her emotionally disconcerting paintings of animals. Sixteen artists in all will participate. It’s free to browse and chat with the artists.
