Broza

Thu 10/8-Sun 10/18

The Jewish FilmFest, hosted by the Mandel JCC, is now in its 9th year of screening feature films, shorts and documentaries from all over the world with Jewish themes. Eighteen films will screen over the festival’s 11 days at area movie theaters including the Cedar Lee Theatre, Shaker Square Cinemas and the Atlas Cinemas Eastgate, as well as at the Mandel JCC, CWRU, the Lakewood Public Library, the Chagrin Falls Public Library and the Parma Library Snow Branch.

Some are serious and thought-provoking, some are humorous, and some are uplifting, such as East Jerusalem West Jerusalem, showing at the Cedar Lee Tue 10/13 and at the Chagrin Falls Public Library Fri 10/16. It follows Israeli folksinger/activist David Broza, who is heavily influenced by American artists ranging from Townes Van Zant to Bruce Springsteen, as he travels through Jerusalem in pursuit of his goal of bringing Israelis and Palestinians together through music.

Tickets for the films range from free to $10, depending on the program.
