Like many traditional Celtic bands, the Tannahill Weavers, who specialize in Scottish music, have a long history. They formed in 1968 and released their first record in 1976, bringing the sound of the Great Highland Bagpipe into the music.
Not surprisingly, they’ve had a lot of personnel changes, with almost two dozen members over the years. All of the founding members are gone, but the basic concept remains: to perform their native traditional ballads, dance tunes and lullabies respectfully and share them with audiences around the world.
They’ll share them with a northeast Ohio audience at Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Happy Days Lodge. Tickets are $17, $12 for CVNP Conservancy members, and $5 for children 3-12.
