Delve into out region’s past in “Living History,” a new series started by Civic Commons ideastream with the goal of strengthen our community. The series will take a look back at historical events in NEO and see how they’re still shaping our community today.
Since February is Black History Month, the first installment will focus on the civil rights movement — then and now. Look at roles local and national organizations played in the struggle and what their roles are today.
Panelists include:
Ronnie Dunn, Ph.D., Associate Professor at Cleveland State University;
Reverend Hilton Smith, President of the Cleveland NAACP;
Susan Hall, Curator, Western Reserve Historical Society;
Natoya Walker Minor, Chief of Public Affairs for the City of Cleveland;
James Hayes, Organizer at Ohio Organizing Collaborative.
