Cleveland’s Top Hat Black plays blues-influenced rock, which of course takes its sound back to the early ’70s classic rock era when blues and rock met in every club and concert hall. Formed just last year, the quartet is fronted by vocalist Jessica Gypsy, whose smoothly fierce vocals might remind you of Bonnie Raitt or Alannah Myles. The group’s putting out their debut release, an EP, and they’re celebrating with a release party at Mahall’s 20 Lanes.
The Nate Jones Band and Megan Zurkey open. They’re promising a jam session to close the night and are inviting area musicians to bring their instruments and come on up.
