Jon Hill has been making custom guitars on Cleveland on and off for nearly three decades. Musicians have admired the craftsmanship and sound of his beautiful instruments, which have been played by Michael Stanley, Billy Morris, Scotti Hill of Skid Row, Slayer’s Tom Araya, Mark St. John of Kiss, and George Lynch of Dokken. He’s currently working under the name Bootleg Guitars at his space in Asiatown.
This afternoon he’s opening his workshop doors so local musicians and guitar enthusiasts can see the work he does. Representatives from other equipment companies such as SIT Strings, Gianini Acoustics, Sidel harmonicas and Zuercher Amplification will be on hand as well. Cleveland quartet Yosemight will be there as well, providing music to drool over guitars by.
