We were there early! CoolCleveland correspondent Marty Bielat made his way up to Akron to see the progress on the hot new jazz club opening up in June: BLU Jazz+. When Bielat arrived on the scene he met up with Akron native, and jazz musician, Josh Rzepka and the two explored the site of the new venue. There might have been a little bit of B&E involved in the process, but the club was worth seeing!
Rzepka told us all about the history of Jazz in Akron, what’s its like being a musician from the town, and all about the club opening up in June. We also got to hear about his gig happening at Nighttown Sat 4/12 at 8:30pm. If you’re looking to see this great musician live check out his gig at Nighttown, and also wait until he opens at BLU Jazz+ in June. It was a fun and interesting interview, and an adventure with Rzepka is always worth the trip up to Akron.
