@Ncmchorus Throws its Annual Mardi Gras Fundraiser

Sat 2/22 @ 6:30PM

In the late winter the North Coast Men’s Choruss thoughts turn to partying — and raising money to keep their music flowing.

The group ranges from 50 voices on up, depending on members’ schedules prior to each of its three major concerts a year. It also performs for special events such as the annual Pride celebration in June. And despite having an open door policy (it doesn’t really audition members but takes anyone willing to come to rehearsals), its concerts are spectacular — powerful, moving, witty, and musically proficient, thanks to director Rich Cole.

But during its annual fundraising Mardi Gras Celebration, now in its 5th year, the guys get to cut loose and have fun — and invite all their friends to join them. There’s New Orleans-style cuisine, music, a cash bar, a French Quartet prize wall, and silent and live auctions. Dressing up in lavish New Orleans Mardi Gras style is certainly not discouraged! It takes place at Windows on the River on the west bank of the Flats.

Tickets are $50. Go to the North Coast Men’s Chorus website to order.
