Cleveland singer-songwriter Nate Jones has spent the last couple of years really getting his name and music out on the local club circuit, exposing audiences to his brand of upscale acoustic flavored music with classic influences like James Taylor, Paul Simon, and Elton John. Although he’s young, he’s got a style that will appeal to his contemporaries and his parent’s generation — earnest, heartfelt songs about universal longings, sung in a clear, bright tenor.
While he’s done his fair share of acoustic solo shows, he also plays with his Nate Jones Band. They’ve got a new EP called The Nate Jones Band EP. Don’t worry — the five songs are more memorable than the title, displaying some rock and roll energy and some soulful flavoring.
Now Jones has pulled up stakes and moved to San Francisco. But he’ll be back in town to mark the release of the new CD with a show on familiar turf for him, the Beachland Tavern. Lorain County-based Americana quarter the Womack Family Band opens.
