All-Star Roster of Oldies Acts Rallies for Sonny Geraci at Z-Plex

Fri 11/15 @ 6PM-midnight

Sat 11/16 @ 2PM-midnight

Sonny Geraci made his mark with Cleveland’s Outsiders (“Time Won’t Let Me”) in the late ’60s before moving to Los Angeles and a brief moment of additional success with one-hit wonders Climax (1971’s “Precious and Few”).

Geraci kicked around the music business for a decade after Climax disbanded without much success, and vanished from the music scene by the mid-’80s. By the mid ’00s he returned to do oldies package tours.

But in April 2012 he suffered an aneurysm and has been under medical care since then.

A who’s whole of the oldies package tour circuit is springing to his assistance with a huge two-night benefit, taking place at the Z-Plex in Streetsboro.

A couple of dozen artists will perform over two days, including Denis Tufano of the Buckinghams, Terry Sylvester of the Hollies, Badfinger’s Joey Molland, Gary Lewis, and Billy Joe Royal. Even the names you wouldn’t recognize were attached to pop hits like “Sugar Sugar,” “It’s So Nice to Be With You,” “409,” “More Today Than Yesterday, “123 Red Light,” “patches” and, well, you get the idea. If you listened to top 40 radio in the 60s and early 70s, you’ll probably recognize every song.

There will also be raffles and auctions to raise still more money for Geraci’s care.

Tickets for each day are $35.
