Mon Ami Winery

The beautiful 1872 limestone building that housed the Catawba Island Wine Company now houses Mon Ami Winery. When the property was purchased by Mon Ami Champagne Company of Sandusky in 1937, Mon Ami, “my friend,” was one of only a few US wineries that produced champagne (a wine traditionally only made in Champagne, France).

Today, the winery serves a number of native, or labrusca, wines, and European-style viniferas. Weekend feasts of crab legs, shrimp, lobster bisque, crabcakes, mussels, side dishes, salad bar, carved meats, delicious pastries, and bananas foster delight diners, who can also enjoy music on the patio or in the while eating more casual fare.
