Square Bistro offers high-quality cuisine in a casual, welcoming environment, appropriately since it’s located on the small-town Chardon Square. Chef/Owner Jaret Havanchak, who formerly worked at Willoughby’s Lure before opening his own place in 2014, designed a menu based on fresh, mostly locally sourced ingredients that satisfies the palates of discerning adults as well as kids (there’s a special kids’ menu).
One specialty that’s unexpected in a town like Chardon is the extensive menu of sushi, sashimi and maki rolls, with dozens of variations. But influences come from around the world including Italy, Eastern Europe, the Caribbean, Korea and good old America, with variations on burgers and fried chicken.
Square also offers a full bar list, with craft beers on tap, specialty cocktails and wines from around the world, by the glass or bottle.
