Local Pop-Punk Band the Promise Hero Releases New CD at the Grog Shop

Sat 8/10 @ 7:30PM

That the Promise Hero is still together after a decade is something of a miracle. The Cleveland band debuted in late 2003 when its members were all teenagers. And teenage bands tend to get pulled apart by changing tastes, changing priorities, and changing locations as members move on to college and jobs.

And yes, the Promise Hero has lost a few members in the time, with lead singer and chief songwriter Bobby Vaughn and guitarist Daniel Weiss remaining from the original lineup.

The pop-punk quartet has released two EPs and one full-length, 2008’s Wait for the Sun. Now it’s back with a new full-length Deja Vu, produced, like Wait for the Sun, by Arizona-based Jamie Woolford, who has worked with bands like the Gin Blossoms, Punchline, and The Story Changes.

It will celebrate the release with a show at the Grog Shop, where it will be joined by Composure and Play Onwards, with Smoke Screen playing the afterparty.

Tickets are $10. The first 100 people through the door also get a free CD.
