Vocalist Cyrille Aimee’s gypsy-influenced jazz has garnered her a Cleveland following in numerous Nighttown appearances.
The French expatriate, who settled in Brooklyn after attending graduating in 2009 from a New York state conservatory, has been a whirlwind of musical activity in the last half dozen years: recording, touring, competitions, collaborating with artists like Diego Figueiredo the Hot Club of Detroit, the Chicago Jazz Orchestra, and David Reinhardt, the grandson of one of her biggest influences, Django Reinhardt (She’s also influenced by her own Dominican heritage on her mother’s side).
Her current ensemble, the Guitar Heroes, features a gypsy guitarist, a jazz guitarist, and a Brazilian guitarist, emphasizing the multiple facets of her music. They’ll be at Nighttown, of course. Tickets are $25.
