In April 2018, after much planning and hosting pop-up events, former Trentina chef Jeremy Umanski, his wife Allie and Kenny Scott opened Larder: A Curated Delicatessen and Bakery in the Old Firehouse in Ohio City’ Hingetown neighborhood. Larder creates a distinctive take on classic comfort food, using not only locally sourced but also foraged ingredients such as ramps and mushrooms. Look for items such as the house-made sausage, pastrami sandwiches, the daily catch, salads and matzoh ball soup, all made from scratch, and a selection of meats, cheeses, bread, produce, dairy products and staples for grocery shopping.
