DENNIS KUCINICH for 9th Congressional District When you have a Representative like Dennis Kucinich, you don’t vote against him unless you’ve got a very good reason. His record of working hard for Northeast Ohio is stellar, and the productivity of his staff in this region is legendary. He knows the issues facing our region, and his values match many (not all) of his constituents. He has exhibited courage and he gets things done. One can even say that his time spent running for President has made him a better, more informed politician, and has garnered respect and influence beyond our district. We like Graham Veysey, and what’s not to like? It’s inspiring that a 29-year-old is motivated enough to take on two seasoned warhorses and throw his hat in the ring, regardless of the steep odds. Kinda reminds you of the young Dennis Kucinich, no? He speaks the truth and we hope he maintains his drive and mounts another campaign for public office soon. Marcy Kaptur is awesome. She is tremendously experienced, and sits on the powerful House Committee on Appropriations. She knows how to bring back the federal money to her district. She is a perfect blend of passion, values and grit. Two issues make her less attractive to Northeast Ohio voters: she doesn’t know Cleveland as well as Kucinich does, and her positions on reproductive and womens’ rights are not in line with the general views of the newly created 9th District.
