BOP STOP’s Outlab Offers an Evening of Musical Exploration

Tue 8/15 @ 8-11PM

Outlab: Experiments in Improvised Music is one of the most open-ended and off-the-wall jam nights offered in the area. Taking place on the third Tuesday of every month at the BOP STOP, it invites musicians on all instruments and “sound-making devices” to join in an evening of improvised group sonic exploration.

They explain, “Instead of “rules” that might pre-empt or short-circuit such explorations, we offer the following guidelines: 1) to direct our explorations along the most productive and positive lines, and 2) to engage the widest possible variety of individuals from Greater Cleveland’s rich and diverse music scenes.”

What happens musically depends entirely on who shows up, the direction they want to go on that particular night and the synergy between the players.A drum kit and keyboard are provided; bring your own amp if you need it. The session is free and open to all, free to hang out and listen, although donations are appreciated.
