Apollo’s Fire’s summer season may not look like its usual summer season at the Baroque Barn but the good news is that there IS a summer season. Two of the concerts are outdoors, one is indoors at one of its usual venues.
“Bach, Vivaldi and Friends” is an evening of music with a rustic flair that includes Georg Philipp Telemann’s Concerto Polonaise; Antonio Vivaldi’s Ciaccona in C and Double Violin Concerto in A Minor; and J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 4. The program features violin soloists Olivier Brault, Alan Choo and Emi Tanabe.
The kickoff evening takes place at Avon Lake United Church of Christ on Saturday July 10, followed by a performance Tuesday July 13 at Cain Park’s covered open-air Evans Amphitheatre in Cleveland Heights. The final performance is Wednesday July 14 at the Akron Art Museum’s Bud & Susie Rogers Garden. The ensemble will also be performing the program at the legendary Tanglewood Festival in Lennox, Massachusetts on Friday July 16. Like their growing reputation; they get around!
