Indie Rockers Cloud Nothings Return Home to Play New Album at the Rock Hall

Fri 7/23 @ 8PM

Dylan Baldi formed Cloud Nothings as a one-man project more than a decade ago, working in his parents’ garage in Westlake. Within a year, he’d dropped out of Case Western Reserve University, signed with respected indie label Carpark and formed an actual band to go on tour.

That band has since expanded from three (Baldi, bassist TJ Duke, drummer Jayson Gerycz) to four (Chris Brown currently handles lead guitar and keyboards), while the plaudits have continued to rain on them in the indie rock scene. After six albums on Carpark, the group released a pandemic album (basically Baldi and Gerycz trading tapes) called The Black Hole Understands on Bandcamp, before releasing their seventh Carpark album The Shadow I Remember, this past February.

They held a livestreamed release party at the Grog Shop in February. Now you can hear them live and in person at the Rock Hall as part of its outdoor summer programming. Acoustic psychedelic folk ensemble the Power/Rolin Duo opens. Tickets are $20; to get them go to rockhall/rock-hall-live-cloud-nothings.
