This year, community nonprofit organization LakewoodAlive continues its annual summer fundraiser, the Lakewood Meltdown 5K and Family Fun Run sponsored by Melt Bar and Grilled, as a “hybrid” race: virtual and in-person.
The in-person race takes place Sunday July 25 with both a 5K and a more comfortably pace one-mile family walk/run, priced at only $12 per participant and aimed to be accessible to anyone. Day of race registration starts at 8am, although you can pre-register here. The race kicks off at 9am at Lakewood Park; the fun run starts after the 5K runners have left.
The virtual race is going on through Friday July 23. Run anywhere you choose, even your treadmill at home and post your time on the event page.
