The duo of Fire & Grace is described as “a journey across cultures, centuries, and traditions, where the elegance of Baroque music meets the soul and energy of folk traditions from around the world.” It features two seasoned players, violinist Edwin Huizinga, who performs both modern and Baroque repertoire, and guitarist William Coulter who’s also a specialist in Celtic music and folk tunes and indie rock, as well as Bach. That gives them a wide musical territory to roam when they play together.
When they hit Northeast Ohio, they’ll be performing five times in various different venues, joined by Uilleann pipes plater Brian Bigley and vocalist Amanda Powell for three of the performances to play an even greater range of folk and dance tunes, classical music and more.
They’ll kick off their NE Ohio mini-tour at the Urban Troubadour in Akron, where there’ll a pre-concert reception with wine and small plates. Get tickets HERE. They’re at the Cleveland Institute of Art’s Mixon Hall at 7:30pm on Thursday with Powell and Bigley who also join them at the Cleveland Museum of Art at 6pm on Friday and Oberlin’s Fairchild Chapel at 4:30pm on Saturday. The duo play by themselves on Sunday at 2pm at the Hudson Library & Historical Society. All performances are free and open to all, except the one at Urban Troubadour. The CIM and Hudson Library performances require registration HERE and HERE.
