Crooked River Zen Center in Cleveland Heights is hosting a two-day event with visiting Zen teacher Shodo Spring, author of Open Reality: Meeting the Polycrisis Together With All Beings, among other books. It’s her most recent publication, which came out last year, summarizing her 40 years of Zen practice and sharing what it has taught her.
On Friday evening, she’ll give a free public talk to share the ideas she wrote about in Open Reality. For those who want to explore them in more depth, she’ll be part of a zazenkai — an all-day Zen retreat — on Saturday, where she’ll talk in the morning and lead a discussion in the afternoon. The registration fee includes a vegetarian lunch. To register for these events go to visiting-zen-teacher-shodo-spring.
