Take a Winter Walk at Holden Arboretum with Half-Price Admission

Tue 1/20 @ 9AM-5PM

Nature’s lushest landscapes and brightest colors are far in the future: January features barren branches and brown meadows. But you’d be surprised what you can see that you can’t once the trees and bushes leaf out. You can discern the bones of the landscape and how it’s arranged, how elements relate to each other. And there are animals and birds that are active here all year round and easier to spot when not hidden among the greenery.

One great place to go to enjoy wintry landscapes and fresh air, and get a little exercise as well is Holden Arboretum, with its 20 miles of trails, through woods, fields, creeks and ponds. And not only is it open at this time of year on its regular Tuesday-Sunday schedule, but admission is half price. Come on the weekend through April and have some hot cider by the fireplace in the Thayer Building Lobby. Or come any day and just drink in the peaceful cold.
