Each month at Forest City Brewing in Ohio City, Story Club Cleveland convenes to entertain audiences with stories told by a couple of featured storytellers and four audience volunteers who sign up to take over the mic. Each month there’s a new theme on which to hang the stories, however loosely, and this month’s theme is “egg.” Maybe it has to do with Easter, maybe it’s connected to the spring season, we’re not sure.
What we do know that that the featured storytellers are professional writer/speaker Brandi Larson and Michelle Dickstein and that four more people who get there at 7pm to sign up with also have a turn at the mic (If more than four sign up, names are drawn from a hat). Each open mic participant has six minutes/1200 word to tell their story. It must be true, not fiction, and they’re not required to stick to the month’s theme.
