Radio Rhythm IDOLs Play Live Music for Swing Dance

Sat 5/2 @ 7-11PM

Radio Rhythm IDOLs, led by local music scene veterans Paul Kovac and Carrie King, will be taking over the bandstand at this month’s Bainbridge Swing Dance, providing the live music these monthly events are noted for. A familiar ensemble at these dances, they play a variety of highly danceable music including tunes from the Great American Songbook, rockabilly, early rock & roll/R&B and both Eastern and Western swing. They’ll be joined one again by up-and-coming vocalist Cory Grinder.

The dances kick off at 7pm with an hour-long lesson so that everyone is up to speed on the basic steps, and newbies will be able to hang in with the experienced dancers. (All skills levels are welcome!) Live music fills the dance floor from 8-10:30pm, and the evening winds down from 10:30-11pm with electro swing, song requests and line dancing.

Come with your partner, come alone or bring the whole family: it doesn’t matter because dancers change partners all night long. Everyone gets the chance to meet new people and try out different dance styles. And yes, the events are kid (family) friendly! Go here for more information.
