Polish American Community Center gets Ahead of the Game with an Early Paczki Day Party

Thu 2/12 @ 4PM

The Polish American Cultural Center in Slavic Village is getting a five-day jump on Paczki Day, which is traditionally the day before Lent starts on Ash Wednesday. Instead of Fat Tuesday, they’re celebrating Fat Thursday.

Admission is free to the event, which starts at 4pm with happy hour in the lower bar. Then there’ll be all sorts of homemade Polish food available for purchase: paczkis, of course, but also pierogi, kielbasa, lazanki, kapusta and much more, along with almost a dozen imported Polish beers.

When you’re not busy stuffing yourself with all those tempting treats, you can take a tour of the Polish museum, library and garden, or dance to live polka music by the Tom Katrenich Orchestra. Go here for the details — in English and Polish!
