Cleveland has no better performance poet than Ray McNiece whose flow never feels forced or pretentious. He’s performed in a variety of settings, including in front of jazz ensembles, and he’s hosted countless poetry events, released books and recordings, and served as Heights Arts’ poet laureate.
He’ll be hosting another poetry jam at Visible Voice books, and he’s bringing alone his ensemble, the Tongue in Groove Trio, who will improvise behind the poets who step up to perform. It’s a free event, and all are welcome — to perform or listen.
