Versatile songwriter/guitarist/keyboard player/vocalist and disability advocate Tracy Marie has been a force in the local music scene for 25 years, releasing six albums, starting with her 2001 release Sheik European Assassin Woman, and compiling a prodigious catalog of material. She’s performed in a variety of genres ranging from hard rock to pop to blues to acoustic singer/songwriter music.
Recently she went into Suma Recording in Painesville to record her seventh album, titled Piano, as part of the Suma Sessions series. It’s now ready to see the light of day. She’ll debut it at the BOP STOP, accompanied by Saam Cabot on sax and flute, who joined her on the recording. The album also features Cherylann Hawk on vocals.
The show’s opener has been around even longer than Tracy Marie. Guitarist/vocalist Xe La (the stage name of Alex Alvarez) is a shapeshifting musician who has performed in numerous formats over the last 30 years, blending acoustic and electric instruments to create his quirky, original sound.
