There’s another first-time event on the summer schedule that hopefully will turn out to be a regular feature of the season. It’s hosted by the Maltz Musuem in Beachwood and it’s called KALEIDOSCOPE!
The outdoor event will feature a live band and DJ music, immersive visual art, a full bar with drinks available for purchase all night, and afterhours access the museum’s touring Icons in Ink: The Jewish Comics Experience, which includes a tribute to the creators of Superman: two Jewish teens from Cleveland’s Glenville neighborhood. It’s on view through August 23, but this is a chance to see it in a different light.
The 18+ event will feature music by one of northeast Ohio’s hottest bands, Apostle Jones, whose eclectic blues and soul-influenced rock has a wide appeal to all types of people. Its vibrant shows, led by front man Mikey Silas, invite the audience to get up, move and join in with sets that quickly become events. Music will also be provided by local DJ and WRUW-FM 91.1 host Teddy Eisenberg, who’ll offer music specially curated for this event, building an arc for the evening from soul, jazz, global music and more.
In addition, Kyle Leuszler will create immersive visuals as Ladybug A/V Club, with vintage TVs and analog video installations.
