Among the programs offered by the Fairmount Center for the Arts in Novelty is its Spanish Dance Company founded in 1972. It delves into the various dance traditions of that country from its well-known flamenco to its lesser-known regional dances, its diverse music, its costumes and its traditions. It teaches classes and workshops for students of all ages and experience levels and does performances across Ohio.
This weekend, you can catch the Fairmount Spanish Dancers at Slavic Village’s Darl Center for the Arts, which is rapidly becoming a Cleveland cultural hub with performances of all kinds. They’ll be accompanied by live musicians, including special guests, percussionist Anthony Taddeo, best known locally for upholding and sharing Italy’s cultural legacy in his band Alla Boara, and cellist Brendon Phelps.
