It seems like every budding filmmaker starts it by making a horror film. So there’s no dearth of material to choose from when putting on a festival such as the Akron Independent Horror Short Film Festival, taking place this weekend at the Akron Civic Theatre.
The doors open at 4pm for the vendor market where you can browse items related to the horror/thriller genre and, as they put it, “snag spine-tingling merch.”
Don’t let your spine tingle too much because from 6-8;30pm you’re going to be watching two-and-a-half hours of films “with an intermission to catch your breath.” Immediately after the films, there’ll be an awards ceremony to honor the cream of the crop. The event is recommended for 12 and up, and those under 18 must bring an adult with them. Get tickets here.
