Cleveland's "Ironman of Reggae" Carlos Jones Is Back Onstage

Fri 5/15 @ 8:30PM

Now, welcome back to the stage — Carlos Jones, sometimes known as “the iron man of Cleveland reggae,” always known as Cleveland reggae’s most prominent face, and now sporting a new hip. With his band, Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band, he provides the soundtrack to Cleveland summers, with his balmy, rock-influenced Caribbean-style music booked all over the area for festivals and outdoor concert series. We were just looking at his schedule and it’s packed with both familiar events (Wade Oval Wednesday, Edgewater Live, the Music Box’s Reggae Sundays) and new venues (Market Square Park, Sandusky Pier, The Sixty6). Next weekend the band will be making their annual appearance at Cleveland Reggaefest at Voinovich Park.

But first … they’ll be doing a show at the Grog Shop, where Es Ska Go will open with a set of reggae/Afrobeat and ska, and Erich Hooper, of Tremont’s Hooper Farm, will be providing fresh locally grown and cooked food. Doors open at 7:30pm. Get advance tickets here for $15 or buy them at the door for $18.
