Cleveland Mural Rally Offers a Chance to Visit Cleveland Murals in Competition with Other teams

Sun 8/2 @ noon-2:30PM

Murals, murals, murals. We’re always hearing about new murals going up around greater Cleveland. Want to judge for yourself whether these enhance the settings they’re placed in? Join the Cleveland Mural Rally, sponsored by the NEOhio Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA).

Starting at Merwin’s Wharf on the east bank of the Cuyahoga River, registered teams, consisting of at least a driver and a navigator (additional passengers are welcome), will set out at noon with a map of mural locations which they’ll visit in any order they chose. They’ll be tracked and scored on s Smartphone App, and photos of the murals and your team can also be uploaded to a shared Google Photos album. Teams will be given points on various criteria, including visiting nonprofit Graffiti HeArt on Superior and East 49th and voting for your favorite artwork. Return to Merewin’s Wharf by 2:30. There’ll be awards for the top-scoring teams.

To learn all the details and register (you must register by 6pm Thursday July 30). An added plus is that the event is a fundraiser for Slow Roll Cleveland, which hosts weekly bicycle rides every Monday during warm weather, comfortably paced social rides geared toward riders of all ages, experience and skill levels.
