Cleveland Burlesque is back at the Beachland Ballroom, and of course the October show is going to have eerie, mystical overtones — ’tis the season!
The Velvet Nocturne—The Admiral Arms Burlesque Revue will bring a lot of dark glamor to the stage with, they promise, “seductive performances, gothic elegance, and monstrous delights.” The show will be headlined by special guest performer Black Ivy from the haunted land of Indiana, performing as Akasha from the film Queen of the Damned, based on an Anne Rice novel from her Vampire Chronicles. Other popular local performers, such as the always creative Heather & Lace and colorful vocalist Monica Mod, will round out the evening.
The “witty and charming” but not especially eerie or mystical Ken Schneck will emcee the show; he is, however, the king of audience engagement, so if you wear a particularly spectacular Halloween costume, as you’re encouraged to, he may single you out and make you part of his patter!
