Fri 5/15 @ 5-9PM
There is always something new happening at 78th Street Studios on Third Friday (as well as plenty of old friends and ongoing exhibits to check out).
This month, 11even2 Gallery will be hosting an interactive exhibit of printmaking titled Feel the Pressure. Six active printmakers who are part of the No Pressure artist collective will show work in a variety of printmaking techniques including woodblock, inkjet and more, depicting a diversity of subjects and styles. In addition to work by Jeanne DeBonis, Maggie Denk-Leigh, Amanda Dilisi, Paul Jacklitch, Jennifer Leach and Lisa Schonberg, the gallery will have a small press onsite where visitors can try their hand at creating a print. The show will be on view through June 19.
This month will also see the launch of the summer issue of CAN Journal, northeast Ohio’s visual arts quarterly. It always hosts a party at one of its member organizations to introduce each new issue, and this month it will be outside the V&A gallery on the 78th Street Side, where you can get a drink and pick up copies of the new issue.
Things That Ache Slowly, featuring work by Maeve Billings, Madison Mayle and Katy Richards, continues at HEDGE Gallery; Director’s Choice at Kenneth Paul Lesko Gallery, is still on view. And don’t miss Tessa LeBaron and Johnny Joo’s sweeping collaborative show Emergence in the Suite 215 Gallery, which features work over a period of years by each artist
As usual, NorthCoast Promotions will have vendors in the event spaces. Third Friday is free and open to all, including well-behaved children and dogs.
