This week Bonfoey Gallery in Playhouse Square is opening a new show featuring of the artists they represent, all of them figurative artists who paint in the style of contemporary realism but with very divergent approaches. In the Details features portraits, still lives and narrative scenes in work by Jim Bandsuh, Amber Kempthorn, Anthony Mastromatteo, George Mauersberger, Frank Oriti and Michael Zigmond.
“The exhibit offers viewers an opportunity to experience realism in its many forms with work that is at once visually compelling, emotionally resonant, and profoundly human,” says the gallery’s press release. Come check it out at the opening on Thursday November 13. It’s free and open to the public, but they’d like people to RSVP here.
Also on Saturday November 15, they’ll be having a “coffee & conversation” time to talk about contemporary realism, moderated by retired CIA president Grafton Nunes. RSVP here.
The show will be on view through December 31.
